Tribute to the Whales Photo Exhibit

Exhibit of stunning whale photography, hosted by Pacific Whale Foundation as part of the Maui Whale Festival. Open daily, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Located at Ma’alaea Harbor Shops, next door to Maui Ocean Center. The Tribute to the Whales: Whale and Dolphin Photography Exhibition features works by professional wildlife photographers Monica and Michael Sweet, Douglas Hoffman, David Fleetham and several Pacific Whale Foundation member photographers, including Herb Hartmann and Dale Walsh. It will also include photos taken by Pacific Whale Foundation's researchers and naturalists, including photography by Greg Kaufman, Founder and President of Pacific Whale Foundation and naturalists Daimar Tamarack, John O'Leary and Jes Beneteau. Free Whale Information Stations Open Daily
Pacific Whale Foundation naturalists and volunteers will be stationed at three locations along Maui’s coast to help you locate whales from shores. They’ll share with you the best techniques for spotting these amazing marine mammals from Maui's shorelines, have binoculars and scopes to help you get a better view, along with models and marine artifacts for hands-on exploration. You’ll also get answers to your questions about whales, geography and natural history. Free and open to all. Part of Maui Whale Festival.

Maui Ocean Club - Offered Wednesdays and Fridays 7:30-11:30am
Marriot’s Maui Ocean Club, located on Kaanapali Beach, is the site of the “Trail of the Whale” Marine Naturalist Station on Maui’s westside. The station is located along the oceanfront pedestrian path fronting the resort. For information, please call Pacific Whale Foundation at (808) 249-8811 ext. 1.
An additional location to view whales is the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary Visitor Center, located at 726 S. Kihei Road, Kihei. Open weekdays, 10:00 am - 3:00 pm. Sanctuary staff and volunteers provide free information about whales. Reservations not required. For information, call (808) 879-2818.
